"babe, my show is onnn"

Yesterday, I sat down to write my scripts for YouTube videos... something I've done 100 times since 2019.

But i Had the strangest physical reaction to it...

My head was itching like crazy. My cheeks were hot. I looked in the mirror and my eyes looked red. I asked my husband if we had lice or something lol.

Then I realized.... I was having a physical reaction to the work I was trying to do.

Trying to be "same old Elise" from 2019 was something my body was physically rejecting.

I realized that I've been in major denial. Maybe this whole year. I'm not the same person I was in 2019, who had 8 hours of uninterrupted work time in a private home office.

Now, I'm listening to my 7-month-old fuss in another room... while planning our summer trips... breastfeeding and rocking and napping... all while trying to formulate thoughts on content marketing.

If this isn't the sign of evolution, I don't know what could be more obvious than that.

So while I don't yet have any answers at all, I *am* giving myself permission to experiment. To take myself out of the "Instagram educator" niche. And to play around with topics that feel fun and light to talk about.

You'll likely see some changes on my Instagram and TikTok (my #1 place for experimenting). And definitely my YouTube channel too. Maybe more vlogs or opinion pieces versus straight teaching?

Speaking of which...

YouTube just gave creators their own Netflix show structure.

Your channel now has the same structure as your favorite binge-worthy series with seasons, episodes, a "Continue Watching" row...

(All that's missing is the dramatic rose ceremony 🌹.)

Those series surface in YouTube search and "Recommended shows." So the more consistently you post, the more the algorithm puts your content in front of new people.

If there was ever a season to finally hit publish, it's this one.

And for me, it's a season to experiment.

Btw... even if I switch my content topics around, I'm still following my system inside YouTube Vault.

It grows your clients and customers with just a few videos, even with zero subscribers.

So even if you've never published a video... maybe now is your time to join me in my season of experimentation?

💡 Side note to YouTube Vault students: what if we did an accountability group on Whatsapp or Telegram this summer... would that be fun? Hit reply and let me know.

And if you're still figuring out what to say in the first second of your video (whether it's your yaps on camera or long-form YouTube videos) I've got something just for you.

Hooks Decoded is my new FREE interactive guide that comes with 15 hooks that are actually working right now.

Each one is pulled apart so you can see why it stops the scroll, with a fill-in version to make it yours in 30 seconds.

Plus, I think old PDF freebies are out, and this new style of an interactive guide is in. What do you think? 💁‍♀️

I've had this nagging feeling about my reels for a couple weeks now, and I think it's time to change up my recipe. Instagram moves fast. Every few months, the whole game seems to shift. Speaking from experience... it's easy to keep doing the thing that worked 12 months ago and wonder why it's suddenly falling flat. That's kind of where I'm at right now (even while on summer vacay between Portugal and Spain – my brain never stops 😛). So instead of ignoring it, I made a video about everything...

There's a lot happening in the online space right now that's genuinely exciting... and can turn someone jelly, real fast. 😵💫 People growing accounts fast, running multi-million dollar launches, doing numbers that make you go: WOAHHH. Jessi Jean did a $6 million launch last month after her $1.2M launch in May. It's inspiring. I loved watching it. And also... if you've been in this game a while, it can mess with your head a little. Because somewhere in the watching, a sneaky little question...

We just got back from a camping trip and I spent most of my time keeping two small humans from overheating and not drinking pool water. It was a comedy of errors on the ride home with one kid sick and the other, well, you don't need the details, but I'm sure all parents can imagine. It blows my mind just how different I am as a person these days. Pre-kids Elise never not thought about business... and now my only focus is keeping the kids happy and alive. My business was my first-born child......
