Yesterday was the longest day of the year, and we've just entered a heatwave in Barcelona. Siesta (where everything shuts down between 1-4pm roughly) is very, very needed when you're schlepping two kids around in the heat. Siesta used to frustrate me (whaddya mean you're closed!?) and now I *get it*. It's literally dangerous to be outside in the heat. Plus, naps + AC + home = my idea of a good time. All this to say... the heat of summer has inspired a few summer intensives in my family. My toddler son started swimming lessons recently, and my goal is to have him swimming in 4 weeks. (We're off to Portugal in July and he'll be in a deep pool daily, so... motivated mom over here.) My summer intensive is far less glamorous. I'm getting back into my F45 workout regime. Twice a week if I can (the bar is low 🤠), a group class, and trying to feel like the strong version of myself again. So with the whole household on this kick, I thought... why not you too. A lot of people will tell you summer is the worst time to sell, to launch, to start anything. I see it differently. Summer is quiet on purpose. The days are long, the calendar is lighter, and that's EXACTLY when you finally get to work on the projects that have been waiting. Maybe you've thought about working with me one-on-one, but what you really wanted was something you could do at your own pace. On a Tuesday afternoon. With an iced coffee. That's what this is. All week, six of my self-study programs are 50% off with the code SUMMER50. Monday through Friday this week only. I've had this nagging feeling about my reels for a couple weeks now, and I think it's time to change up my recipe. Instagram moves fast. Every few months, the whole game seems to shift. Speaking from experience... it's easy to keep doing the thing that worked 12 months ago and wonder why it's suddenly falling flat. That's kind of where I'm at right now (even while on summer vacay between Portugal and Spain – my brain never stops 😛). So instead of ignoring it, I made a video about everything...
There's a lot happening in the online space right now that's genuinely exciting... and can turn someone jelly, real fast. 😵💫 People growing accounts fast, running multi-million dollar launches, doing numbers that make you go: WOAHHH. Jessi Jean did a $6 million launch last month after her $1.2M launch in May. It's inspiring. I loved watching it. And also... if you've been in this game a while, it can mess with your head a little. Because somewhere in the watching, a sneaky little question...
Yesterday, I sat down to write my scripts for YouTube videos... something I've done 100 times since 2019. But i Had the strangest physical reaction to it... My head was itching like crazy. My cheeks were hot. I looked in the mirror and my eyes looked red. I asked my husband if we had lice or something lol. Then I realized.... I was having a physical reaction to the work I was trying to do. The moment it dawned on me. Trying to be "same old Elise" from 2019 was something my body was physically...
