You might not know this about me... but I've been pretty "Type A, anxious" most of my life. At the same time, I've been fully self-employed since 2013. So if I treated every decision in my business like it was make-or-break – from a place of anxiety – I'd never get anything done. I'd be frozen. Stuck in perfectionism, lost in procrastination, staring at 17 directions I could go and picking exactly none of them. So a while ago, I made a little deal with myself. Nothing is make-or-break. Everything is just an experiment. "Huh... I wonder if that would work?" is my thinking... and then I go find out. That is me. DAILY. And the funny thing? That's usually when it actually works. Because sales is really just a transfer of enthusiasm, and it's pretty hard to be enthusiastic when you're terrified. Here are a few of my favourite experiments from over the years, and what came of them... 1️⃣ Could I revive a "dead" email list of 14,000 people by ditching my $597 course and selling a $27 one instead? RESULT: → 32,631 students over the years from that little $27 product. And it quietly walked people toward my high-ticket course without me selling a thing. (Still makes me smirk at the backward-ness.) 2️⃣ Could I move to Spain, no office, no setup, give away my ENTIRE Instagram process for free in a live challenge, and still have anyone buy from me after? RESULT: → Over 10,000 people joined my Reel Of Fortune challenge. Over 200 of them bought my $1,500 offer. 3️⃣ Could I take 4 months off for my first maternity leave, fully unplugged, phone-in-a-drawer, and still make money? RESULT: → My business did $60–80K a month while I was gone. DM automations, evergreen funnels, and a team of three keeping it all running. 4️⃣ Could I add steady, recurring revenue with a membership? RESULT: → 2,104 founding members and a $213K launch. (Same experiment I later ran with Ran, the bass teacher I told you about.) __ And here's what years of coaching has taught me... The business owners I work with are almost never stuck because they're lazy or not smart enough. They're stuck because everything feels SO high-stakes. >> The to-do list that never shrinks (and the profit never grows). >> The feeling that social media never lets you clock off, even on a Saturday with the kids (plus FOMO, comparison-itis...) >> The fear of being seen in your own posts (this is a BIG one). So that's the first thing I do as your coach. We pick one experiment worth running. We try it, we watch what happens, we adjust. That's the whole point of my summer intensives. 4 weeks, just the two of us. If there's an experiment you've been circling but haven't been brave enough to run, hit reply and tell me what it is. I'll let you know if we're a good fit to run it together. To my experimenting and your success, ~ Elise P.S. The intensive starts Monday (ideally, but flexible to your schedule) and there are 2 spots left. Just hit reply and I'll personally get back to you! |

I've had this nagging feeling about my reels for a couple weeks now, and I think it's time to change up my recipe. Instagram moves fast. Every few months, the whole game seems to shift. Speaking from experience... it's easy to keep doing the thing that worked 12 months ago and wonder why it's suddenly falling flat. That's kind of where I'm at right now (even while on summer vacay between Portugal and Spain – my brain never stops 😛). So instead of ignoring it, I made a video about everything...
There's a lot happening in the online space right now that's genuinely exciting... and can turn someone jelly, real fast. 😵💫 People growing accounts fast, running multi-million dollar launches, doing numbers that make you go: WOAHHH. Jessi Jean did a $6 million launch last month after her $1.2M launch in May. It's inspiring. I loved watching it. And also... if you've been in this game a while, it can mess with your head a little. Because somewhere in the watching, a sneaky little question...
Yesterday, I sat down to write my scripts for YouTube videos... something I've done 100 times since 2019. But i Had the strangest physical reaction to it... My head was itching like crazy. My cheeks were hot. I looked in the mirror and my eyes looked red. I asked my husband if we had lice or something lol. Then I realized.... I was having a physical reaction to the work I was trying to do. The moment it dawned on me. Trying to be "same old Elise" from 2019 was something my body was physically...
