I've been fascinated by a launch that's been happening on Instagram over the last few weeks. Not so much because of the money she made (to the tune of $1.2M... incredible!), but because of what it proves. A creator who started her account about six months ago was originally sharing furniture flips. Then she started sharing thoughts as a millennial. Then content creation tips. Caveat: she's not new to the business world - this was just a new Instagram account. What people really seemed to connect with was her style of talking to the camera. Not super polished, and it felt like listening to a friend. So she decided to teach it. A couple of weeks ago, she launched something called The Yap Challenge for $297. And if you've been around the online business world for a while, you know that's not a typical challenge price. Most challenges are under $30 bucks, right? But what happened next got a lot of people talking. She started sharing her sales numbers publicly as the launch was happening. First it was 1,000 buyers.. 👇 Then 2,000. Then she mentioned her Zoom room only held 3,500 people and suddenly everyone wanted a seat. By the end of the launch, she had more than 4,000 customers – and had generated over $1.2 million in sales. From 1 offer... Promoted mostly just on Instagram... To an audience of about 300,000 followers. And I think that's why this launch has gone so viral among marketers. Every day, I hear someone say that digital products are dead. Or that AI is replacing courses. Or that people won't spend money anymore. Or that only high-ticket offers are worth selling. Then a launch like this comes along and reminds us that maybe we don't need to make things quite so complicated. A few things stood out to me. First... Every great launch starts with a great idea. If she had called it a "Content Creation Challenge" I don't think it would've had the same effect. But she saw that the concept of "yapping" 🗣️ was taking off (especially on TikTok, going back to last fall) and she monetized it – The Yap Challenge. And you instantly get it. Second... You don't need five traffic sources. You need one that works. This entire launch is a reminder that depth beats spreading yourself thin. Third... People will absolutely pay over $100 for digital products. Especially when they're buying experience, feedback, perspective, examples, and coaching. The thing she's teaching isn't something AI can simply generate. And my biggest takeaway? You don't need 20 offers. You don't need 10 traffic sources. You don't need to race to the bottom on pricing. You need an idea that makes people stop and say, "Wait... tell me more." That's usually where the magic starts.
